Walmart-owned Flipkart, in partnership with Taiwan-based semiconductor company MediaTek, has launched a new range of MarQ smart home speakers. The newly launched device comes powered by MediaTek MT8516 2-Mic Development Kit for voice services. Coming in Matte Black colour, the speakers will be available for sale on the e-tailer’s site from September 26.
The new smart speaker comes with support for both Google voice assistant in both Hindi and English. The speaker has a sound output of 6watt. The smart speaker is compatible with several popular smart devices from renowned brands, the company says. It can be used to dim the lights, pause the TV, or turn on the AC.
The newly launched speakers come with two far-field microphones. On the design front, the speaker has a moulded body and soft fabric finish. It also features a quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 application processor, operating with a clock speed of up to 1.3 GHz.
As mentioned above, the speaker is equipped with MediaTek MT8516 development kit. “With MT8516, audio manufacturers can reduce the development time, effort and costs associated with designing and customizing smart speaker products,” the company said in a statement. The MT8516 development kit will enable manufacturers to roll-out a range of smart devices including speakers, soundbars, smart home hubs, industrial applications and smart home appliances, it further added.
