Oppo expected to launch a phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor - Times of India

NEW DELHI: Smartphone maker Oppo could be the first company to launch a smartphone with the new and yet-to-launch Qualcomm chipset. Qualcomm is expected to launch its next generation flagship processor -- Snapdragon 875. It is also said that along with the high-end processor the company might also launch the lite version of the processor -- likely to be called Snapdragon 870.
It is said that the Snapdragon 870 will also offer the same processor as the Snapdragon 875. According to the tipster Digital Chat Station, smartphone maker Oppo is working on a smartphone which is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. This new lite version of the chipset is expected to use eight CPU cores with one of the cores clocked at 3.2 GHz, a higher frequency than Snapdragon 865+.
The company is planning to launch the Snapdragon 870 in order to offer high performance at an affordable price. So, Oppo will be the first company to launch a smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor.
Recently, Oppo launched the Diwali Edition of its Oppo F17 Pro smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 23,990. Oppo F17 Pro offers a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED curved FHD+ display (2400x1080p resolution) with 60Hz refresh rate. The device comes powered by MediaTek Helio P95 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Backed by a 4000mAh battery, the Oppo F17 Pro offers VOOC 4.0 charge support of 30W and runs Android 10 based ColorOS 7.2.
