AMD Navi XTXH, XLE, and Nashira Point variants spotted on USB-IF: XTXH could be a possible Navi 21 variant with HBM2(E) support - Notebookcheck.net

So far, AMD has launched three RDNA 2 GPUs viz. the Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and the flagship RX 6900 XT. All these GPUs are based on the Navi 21 core. While we expect Navi 22 GPUs such as the RX 6700 XT to be announced at CES 2021, AMD may have even more GPUs on the anvil.

Recently, three new entries were spotted on the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) by known leaker @KOMACHI_ENSAKA on Twitter. These entries indicate new XTXH, XLE, and Nashira Point variants. Now, it is not exactly clear to which cards these model names pertain to.

The Radeon RX 6900 XT is based on a Navi 21 XTX variant. So, the XTXH could either mean a higher or lower Navi 21 XTX GPU. Or, it could also be a Navi 22 variant or at the very least, a Radeon Pro workstation card. The XLE, on the other hand, could mean a low-power variant but then again, it is not clear which GPU family it belongs to.

Another plausible explanation (via u/uzzi38 on Reddit) is that we could be looking at a variant with HBM2/HBM2E memory controllers. Clues that Navi 21 could possibly be offered with GDDR6 and HBM2(E) controllers were first seen in firmware extracts from macOS 11 Beta a few months ago.

The USB-IF listings themselves are quite sparse with the only main takeaway being that the USB Type-C port on these cards has a power delivery profile (PDP) of 27 W.

The other interesting variant is Nashira Point. Before the launch of the Radeon RX 6000 series, AMD was found to use "fishy" codenames such as Navy Flounder or Sienna Cichlid to prevent any leaks and guesses. Nashira Point does not seem to indicate any fish, but it is not clear whether this is an upcoming product or an internal codename for an already released part.
