AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Cezanne Zen 3 desktop APU ES leaks, shows decent leads over the Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 7 4700G in single and multi-thread CPU-Z scores - Notebookcheck.net

Apart from being available for laptops, AMD APUs often make their way to desktop PCs as well. Last year, AMD announced Renoir APUs for desktop, but they were limited only to OEMs. AMD will be launching the new Ryzen 5000 APUs codenamed Cezanne and Lucienne for laptops at CES 2021, but we are now getting to see an early look at the first desktop Ryzen 5000 APU, the Ryzen 7 5700G.

The first hints of a Ryzen 7 5700G APU were spotted in a recent USB-IF listing. Now, an engineering sample (ES) of the Ryzen 7 5700G (with OPN 100-000000263-30_Y) has leaked on the Chinese social media platfgorm QQ. The sample is an 8C/16T 7 nm Zen 3 part, and the leaker feels that this could even be a Ryzen 7 5750G as well.

This sample was tested in CPU-Z wherein it was shown to score 613.6 points in single-thread and 6292.2 points in the multi-thread test. This makes it about 20% and 16% faster, respectively than the Ryzen 7 3700X in the same benchmark.

The leaker also notes that the Ryzen 7 5700G can be overclocked to 4.7 GHz, which then results in 5.4% and 10.5% increase in CPU-Z single and multi-thread scores, respectively.

In comparison with the Renoir Ryzen 7 4700G's numbers in the CPU-Z database, we find the new Ryzen 7 5700G ES to be about 13.4% faster in single-thread and 8.3% faster in multi-thread. Given that we are still looking at an engineering sample, this performance delta can be expected to further increase once the frequencies are finalized in later versions.

It will also be interesting to know which Vega GPU is being used here, but if the 4700G is anything to go by, we can expect at least eight Vega compute units (CUs) in the Ryzen 7 5700G

The leaker also notes that the processor will cost ¥1,888 (US$296) when bought in bulk. Even if this processor launches officially, AMD may still restrict it to OEMs as tray versions and not put it up for sale as a Processor-in-Box (PiB) product.
