This Zen 3-architecture CPU is marketed as an elite gaming processor with optimization for higher FPS demands. It has 8 cores that offer a total of 16 threads, so the specifications are in place to meet those requirements.
According to the official specifications provided by AMD, it has a base operating speed of 3.8GHz but it can reach as high as 4.7GHz with turbo. Performance-wise, this isn't the beefiest CPU on the line but it's way up the list with these speeds—especially at this price point.
It has 32MB of L3 cache and can support DDR4-3200 memory. This particular edition doesn't come with a cooler, be sure to purchase a cooler separately, third-party or otherwise when buying this processor.
