Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek has announced a new chipset to power smart TVs — called MT9602. This AI-enabled chipset is said to support 4K HDR displays with improved picture and audio quality, as per the company.
In a press statement, MediaTek announced that Motorola will be the first TV to come featured with this processor.
MediaTek claims that this processor offers real-time video optimisation as AI-PQ (picture quality) & AI-AQ (audio quality) technologies work together. This processor can support up to three HDMI 2.1a compliant ports, plus Dolby Atmos surround sound support.
