Intel will launch its Tiger Lake H-series processors in the coming weeks, but we may get to see a refresh of the current Tiger Lake-U series and H35 lineup. We have already got information about two new H35 processors the Core i7-11390H and the Core i5-11320H. Now, we also get to hear that Intel will also be adding the Core i7-1195G7 and the Core i5-1155G7 to the Tiger Lake UP3 lineup.
Tiger Lake-H35 Refresh
Currently, Intel offers the Core i7-11375H Special Edition, Core i7-11370H, and the Core i5-11300H under the Tiger Lake-H35 umbrella. In Q3, Intel will further expand this lineup by including the Core i7-11390H and the Core i5-11320H.
The Core i7-11390H can now offer 5 GHz boost on two cores and a 300 MHz boost on all cores compared to the Core i7-11375H i.e. an all-core boost clock from 4.3 to 4.6 GHz. The Core i5-11320H can now reach up to 4.5 GHz boost on one and two cores while the all-core turbo gets increased to 4.3 GHz from 4.0 GHz in the Core i5-11300 MHz. The core count remains the same at 4C/8T. No changes are expected in the Xe EU count i.e. the Core i7-11390H will sport 96 execution units (EUs) while the Core i5-11320H will feature 80 EUs.
New Tiger Lake UP3 SKUs
Tiger Lake UP3 is the 28 W cTDP up lineup in the 11th gen series (UP4 being 15 W cTDP up), and new leaks are pointing to a couple of additions coming to this lineup. Known leaker @momomo_us on Twitter recently spotted a system configuration on the PugetBench site (now taken down) that indicates a new 11th gen Core i7-1195G7 with a base clock of 2.9 GHz.
The Core i7-1195G7 managed to score 859 points in the PugetBench test (via Tom's Hardware), which is only a notch lower than the Core i7-1185G7's score of 868 points. Additionally, Videocardz also spotted a Core i7-1155G7 part on a few retailer websites. This processor reportedly has a base clock of 2.8 GHz and a boost up to 4.7 GHz.
While not much information is available about these SKUs, they do seem to have fairly identical specifications as the Core i7-1185G7 and the Core i7-1165G7, respectively. The Core i7-1195G7 seems to have a 100 MHz lower base clock than the Core i7-1185G7, though. It is very well possible that these SKUs may offer changes to all-core frequencies and, though less likely, to integrated graphics as well.
It is not yet clear when we will see laptops featuring the Tiger Lake-H35 Refresh and new UP3 SKUs. For now, it looks like Intel may offer new parts with slight performance benefits in the run up to the Tiger Lake-H45 launch so as to further bolster its lineup against AMD's Zen 3 Cezanne and Lucienne offerings.
